DeepSeek Assistant is a browser extension that exports your DeepSeek chat conversations to local files and helps you manage long conversations as they approach DeepSeek's context limit. This policy explains exactly what the extension reads, where it stores things, and what — if anything — ever leaves your device.

Summary: Everything this extension does happens locally in your browser. Your chat content is never sent to us, to any analytics service, or to any third party. The only network request the extension ever makes is a single, minimal request to a payment backend you configure yourself, and only if you choose to upgrade to a paid tier — and that request never includes your chat content.

What the extension reads

To build exports and estimate how full a conversation's context window is, the extension reads:

Chat messages and titles from chat.deepseek.com, via the page's own local browser storage (IndexedDB) and the visible page content
Which chat you currently have open (from the page URL), so exports and estimates apply to the right conversation

This reading happens entirely within your browser. None of this content is transmitted anywhere as part of normal use.

What this extension does not do

It does not use Google Drive or any other third-party cloud storage
It does not include analytics, trackers, or advertising of any kind
It does not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone, under any circumstances
It does not transmit your DeepSeek conversation content anywhere

Permissions and why they're needed

Host access to `chat.deepseek.com`	Required to read chat content on that site — the extension has no access to any other website

Your control over your data

Because everything is stored locally, you're always in control:

Disconnect a connected vault folder anytime from the extension's Settings page
Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored settings and preferences
Files already exported to your device remain yours regardless of the extension's install status

Children's privacy

DeepSeek Assistant is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will be revised. Material changes will be reflected in the extension's store listing.
